Stalking
If you have a blog, do you qualify as a stalkee? I mean, everybody has access to what you had to eat and drink, the place of your last party, your state upon leaving said party, and the three hook-ups from that time.
Everybody knows your opinions or lack thereof, your favorite political and sexual positions, and your favorite singer/athlete/actor/poet.
The point is, and it is hitting me, with a blog there is no more privacy. Seriously.
As Min Jung Kim said in her post about lifecycle of bloggers, the realization that all our lives are there to be scrutinized, open to the public, forces a lot of people to go underground, to opt for a LJ account and to forego this weird activity.
Case in point: a friend is getting two blogs, one for his ramblings about the Force and how to get a single malt Scotch whisky for only $150. His other blog, following my advice, is for his professional discussions about such worthy subjects such as physiology of the brain.
After all, it doesn't do to publish such worthy research next to a review of last night tasting, does it?
So, what to do once you lose your privacy to the internets?
