Viva Jay Allen!

Viva Jay Allen, anti-spam hero of the world! Today, after the first snow of the season, I got on my mail and found 20 messages, all of them spam! What is the world coming to?
Well, I may have to contribute to his paypal fund.
Just to show my appreciation.

Spam, like telemarketers, is such a violation of my privacy. If you welcome that, then fine, but they should have to request your permission BEFORE they call or email you, not after.

Liz, how can a spammer ask your permission to spam you without spamming you in order to ask permission?

"Good evening, ma'am, I just rang your doorbell to ask if it was all right for me to ring your doorbell."

Or, given that any channel of information can now be exploited for the purposes of spam, it would be more like:

"Notice: the undersigned ENLARGE YOUR PENIS NOW ASK ME HOW HTTP://ENLARGEYOURPENISNOWASKMEHOW.COM ONLY THREE PAYMENTS OF $49.99 PLUS SHIPPING AND HANDLING -- SHE'LL BE GLAD YOU DID requests your permission to send you a commercial message."
