Sheeps, all sheeps

Belle de Jour puts it correctly: we live in a society that takes everything and makes it mainstream, takes the fun out of it:

I fully anticipate by next year Charlotte Church will have a glittery t-shirt that reads 'My Barbie takes it up the ass.' Maybe I should make one and send it to her.
On the other hand, I know the perfect person for that tshirt.

I have been feeling like this for sometime now. I thought it just meant I'm getting old. I'm just over the whole shock value of things anymore. Now I'm more shocked to find people that are living some type of managable life. One incident that comes to mind is the recent Madonna kissing Brittany and Christina thing. I can't imagine wanting to look like an old (look at Madonna's face in that clip) bat kissing two pretty young girls. That was the dumbest, most unsexy, moronic thing I've seen. I wasn't shocked in the least, turned off is more like it. When I see people like Oprah and Madonna, still reinventing there same old product (themselves), I think, how much more goddamned money do you need? Let it go, move on, just go away. I'm so over all of it. None of it is shocking or interesting to me.
