Blog or publish

Fast: What better for the ego-tripper validation-needy blogger jonesing for hits? I heard the story this morning on NPR, and of course it immediately left my driving to work short term memory. Luckily ambivalent imbroglio pointed to it and the product described, a print-on-demandmachine that can give you books faster, cheaper, better. The American Dream, actually.

I am already thinking that thousands of bloggers are salivating at the possibility of regaling their unwired friends with thousands of posts, in nicely bound form.

Gutenberg, o Gutenberg, what have you done!

Print on demand has been around for some time. Amazon lists more and more pod titles.

Did you know Blogger has a page about blogging as a way to a book deal?

$5,000 is a bit steep for the average blogger. But just right for a small vanity press publisher. I wonder if any of those guys have thought to pursue bloggers. The godawful housewife poetry and autobiographies I see (and sometimes sell) from vanity publishers is worse than most of the weblogs that I read (then again, if the welblogs were bad I wouldn't be reading them).

Thought i'd drop by and let you know how much i love this site!
