War against drugs - again
Much of the war against drugs is fought against the ones that have no recourse to justice, or a very blind and twisted version of it. This time, the victim is a person working for a medical cause:
From Dan Gillmor, the insane war against drugs:
The sheer meanness of the Bush administration's generals in the War on (Some) Drugs has never been clearer than in their pursuit of Ed Rosenthal. This man was working under the auspices of the city of Oakland, dispensing medical marijuana to severely ill people.
Drugs are bad, Feds are good. Person helping terminally ill patients is bad.
Comments
First I think drugs are wrong, but I also don't "approve" of alcohol or smoking.
However the goold o US of A has outlawed drinking in the past and history shows us how that turned out. The same can be said of drugs, its just a few more years until they become legal too. Adults can make their own choices. This though brings up more questions such as what kind of adult can choose, what is an adult, what about mental capacity, and on and on.......

I disapprove of drugs as well, if only because the pain and sorrow they cause. However, to condemn terminally ill patients to pain and suffering just to make a point – as if marijuana wasn't readily available in the streets – is wrong.
And of course, you have a point there regarding prohibition.
