Peace rally

The reports from all the cities indicate that yesterday's was an unqualified success, what has already been termed the largest coordinated peaceM protest in history.
Whereas I am not confident that the Pentagon or the White House are going to levitate just yet, it sure gave GB and Blair a time for thought. As the BBC reports:

Playwright Harold Pinter made a rare public speech, saying America was "a country run by a bunch of criminal lunatics with Tony Blair as a hired Christian thug".

Public sentiment has been clear, and all the war mongering of hawks has fallen short of reaching its goal, specially in an age when everyone is able to get to the sources of fraudulent intelligence reports, false accusations and untenable propositions.
What is left of our democratic leaders now? Their absolute and autocratic desire for a war fall in the face of what the people of the world are saying, screaming and writing. If 9/11 was the catalyst for the blogger explosion, this stupid war against Iraq will surely spur another wave of journals brought online.
Already Blair is feeling the heat, and the headlines from newspapers to bloggers indicate the desire for Bush to re-accommodate his views to this ineludible reality. When will this Congress wake up to their duty and mandate?
