I'm only 17, but being Mexican-American, I am shocked everyday by the ignorance displayed not by one particular race(though both show it to a great extent) but simply by humans. Imagine this, my father came to America when he was simply 18 years old alone and scared to support his grandmother for 6 years, who was dying of cancer. Because he was working 20 hours a day, he didn't get to be there when she died and I never got to meet her. He's wanted better for me all of my life. He has had to face racism for simply being himself and for loving my mom, because she is white. I have been seen as a product of sin my entire life because I am a combination of 2 cultures. In kindergarten, I was chased by a boy with dirt, whose father had told him all Mexicans were dirty. I wasn't allowed to play with a white girl down the street because they figured I didn't know how to speak English. I've grown up mostly in Kentucky, so I've been a subject of racism everday of my life and the fact I'm still able to read such sad and despicable things amazes me. Maybe I am a wetback, but I thank God for it because it is what has allowed me to know that racism is a waste of time, especially when you're trying to fight it everday of your life. I'm going to college next year, a Mexican female whose father picked tomatoes for a living until he was 28 and I will become not better than my father, but what he wanted me to be. So let's say ABC Body Shop has 20 cars in the shop, so 10 cars are being worked on at any one time, meaning that all 10 illegals are actively generating income for the shop all day, every day. Therefore, $100/hour shop rate per man x 10 men = $1,000 gross income generated each hour. For an 8-hour day, that means (8 x $1,000) $8,000/day gross income generated by our 10 bad boys, who are paid a total of (remember our previous calcs, class) $800 salary expense. So, using our noggins, $8,000 minus $800 = net $7,200 after salary expense. Of course, the business must now deduct daily cost of materials used, insurance, rents, and other expenses to arrive a net profit figure, but, as you can see, a 10% investment results in a gross 10-fold yield in gross income generated. So, as it turns out, rather than draining our economy, as many of you paranoid folk think, the illegal is actually stimulating it. Sure, he pays no taxes in the example given, but the business does on the net income resulting directly from thier employ. Plus he gets no social security benefits from working illegally. Welfare-sucking scum, you say? A pittance compared to the huge profits they are generating for American business in your motels, hotels, car washes, restaurants, lettuce fields, etc. So the few crumbs they do pick up are nothing in comparison to what they contribute. If you kick them all out and pay American workers on the table, prices must go up. So then you will complain about higher resaurant, motel, hotel, etc. prices across the board, plus having to do the menial tasks yourselves, which you don't want to do anyway.
